Power Market Analyst: (Part-time to full-time)

Duties:
Smart electricity grids are being seen as an enabling technology for greater penetration of renewable electricity sources and technologies like electric vehicles. The ideal candidate will work with principal to understand the regulatory and market aspects of energy markets. Models will need to be developed and deep dives will need to be conducted into specific areas such as: Solar and Storage, Energy Efficiency, Demand Side Management, Home Area Networks, Grid-Vehicle (& V2G) … etc. to determine positioning of external companies, market needs and opportunities for the PowerPedia services and solutions.

The day to day work will involve understanding various technologies, standards, markets and regulatory schemes. The candidate will develop a holistic technology analysis and product definition thinking in this exciting new area of smart grids.

Knowledge and Skills: 

• Electric Power Grid and Energy Markets understanding.
• Knowledge of electric energy storage technologies.
• Knowledge in building controls, automation, and electric vehicles charging mechanisms and standards.
• Project finance and sensitivity modeling.

Software Engineer: (Part-time to full-time)

The ideal candidate will work with principal to develop tools to simulate, monitor, and control energy generation and consumption technologies including: Solar, Energy Storage, Energy Efficiency, Automatic Demand Response, Demand Side Management, Home Area Networks, Grid-Vehicle (& V2G) … etc. The candidate will develop specialized and holistic tools to optimize solutions and help develop new product definition thinking in this exciting new area of smart grids.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Power Systems, and Energy Markets understanding.
• Knowledge in building controls and automation.
• Project finance, sensitivity modeling, and Numerical Optimization.
• Python, C++, Java, MS SQL ..etc.
